Music for Gamers (Edition 2)

Howlett is the de facto leader of the group. He writes, performs and records almost all of The Prodigy’s songs. Howlett’s main place of work is his home studio (Earthbound Studios). Howlett has knowledge of classical piano and is also proficient in DJing. He began his musical career by buying turntables with money he earned at a construction site and playing the role of a DJ in the white hip-hop team “Cut 2 Kill,” which he later left due to aggression from black representatives of the hip-hop crowd. After that, he completely immersed himself in the then nascent rave culture and began creating his first breakbeat demos on Roland W-30 keyboards and an old Moog Prodigy synthesizer.
Howlett is a big fan of horror films. Many of The Prodigy’s tracks contain samples from various horror films. Among the top 100 musicians in England.

From the very beginning of his participation in the group, Flint was just a dancer, but in 1996 he first showed himself as a vocalist on the single “Firestarter”. The video that accompanied the single featured Flint in his new look, which became The Prodigy’s signature look. The trend with vocals continued in the new single “Breathe”, where he sang with Maxim Reality. The Prodigy’s next album, The Fat of the Land, featured several songs on which Flint sang: "Breathe", "Serial Thrilla", "Firestarter" and "Fuel My Fire" (an L7 cover). The success of the album, which became the band’s most successful album, made Flint the de facto face of The Prodigy. The next work, "Baby’s Got a Temper", which was released in 2002, was largely influenced by the punk style of Flint himself, although Howlett himself later discredited the song as being too uncharacteristic for the group. There was some disagreement between Flint and Howlett during this period, which may have resulted in the absence of Flint’s vocals on the next album, Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned, although Flint sang on "Hotride (El Batori Mix)" from the "Hotride" single.
On The Prodigy’s latest album, Invaders Must Die, released on February 23, 2009, Flint again appears on several tracks from the album: "Omen", "Colours", "Take Me to the Hospital" and "Run with the Wolves".

Voice of the Prodigy group, permanent presenter of all live performances. I became interested in music almost from childhood, and enthusiastically watched the performances of my older brother MC Starkey. It was his brother who gave Maxim the first few lessons in using a microphone. Since then I began to develop my style of performing on stage. He spent some time DJing. Has harsh, sometimes aggressive vocals. His vocals sound power is approximately 100 decibels. Maxim has been writing music since childhood. He showed himself not only as a talented musician, but also as the author of high-quality, meaningful social lyrics, which abound on his albums.

When the group formed, in addition to the main four members of The Prodigy, there was another member of the group – their girlfriend named Sharky. She subsequently left the group as she did not want to go professional, but Sharky can be seen in the 2005 video for "Voodoo People (Pendulum Remix)". In the video, Sharkey wins the marathon, the essence of which was to be the first to run the entire distance blindfolded.
The band’s first live performance took place at a place called "Labyrinth" in 1990 (the performance was organized by Ziggy, who would later become their first manager). The concert was attended by about 250 people, but it was nevertheless a success, despite the fact that Liam’s sampler failed. It’s also worth noting that this was the first time the band members met Maxim, who also enjoyed the concert (despite the fact that he was into reggae at the time).
The Prodigy’s first overseas performance took place in Italy.
Liam took the band’s name from his first synthesizer, Moog Prodigy.
The group’s symbol is an ant, which is often mistaken for a spider.
Keith Flint was the first bully at school, but at the same time he was the first to get a job and have some money, so he was always confident in himself. In his youth he was an ardent Pink Floyd fan.
The Prodigy performing at the Glastonbury Festival in 1995. was recognized by many music critics as the Greatest Show on Earth.
Howlett initially wanted to call his second album "Music for the Cool Young Juvenile" or "Music for Joyriders", but neither title satisfied him. As a result, one of Howlett’s friends suggested the final title for the album – "Music for the Jilted Generation".
The Prodigy performed with Moby, David Bowie, Rage Against the Machine, Sepultura, Dog Eat Dog, Suede.
In the USA there is a rap duo “Mobb Deep”, one of the participants whose name is Prodigy. In 2006, he released his second solo album, Return of the Mac, which misled many fans of The Prodigy.
At the end of the “Fire” video, Howlett throws a copy of Mixmag magazine with the article “Did ‘Charly’ Kill Rave’” into the fire??».
The famous Castbreeder (1998) and Invaders Must Die (promo 2008) are not The Prodigy albums. The first is a pirated collection, incorporating the tracks Junkie XL and Lunatic Calm, the second consists of reworks (English. rework) mainly from a Canadian named Molotov Beats, who took as a basis the samples present in the original tracks and made his own versions of the songs.
To date, the group has sold over 25 million albums and singles worldwide.
All albums and singles took 1st place in the UK dance chart.
The Fat Of The Land album entered the Guinness Book of Records as the fastest selling British album
According to a poll conducted by the organizers of the GlobalGathering festival, The Prodigy were recognized as the most influential electronic group in the UK.
The group is the winner of 6 MTV Europe Music Awards (1994, 1996, 1997, 1998) and 4 MTV Video Music Awards (1997, 1998).

Who doesn’t know these guys! Almost every teenager knows many of their songs, and the name of the 4th album Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned was said by Dusty from Medal of honor 2010(Yes, this is a dude in a cap, glasses and a beard). I became acquainted with this group a long time ago, now where is the 2nd album lying around, which I once listened to non-stop when I was little (5-6 years old).Especially Voodoo People, Omen and other wonderful singles sunk into my soul
